Karen joined the Active Living team in 2019, bringing with her over 30 years administrative and receptionist experience. After graduating from UVIC with a Bachelor’s Degree in English, she left Vancouver Island to pursue studies in Travel & Tourism at BCIT in Vancouver. Karen worked in tourism and worked her way up to Managing Director of the newly created International Coach Tours Inc. She then became a mother and started a home-based daycare to turn her attention to the home. During this time, she also hosted International students from around the world in her home. This invaluable experience led to her becoming the Registrar for VanWest College (a highly respected ESL school in Vancouver) where she later took over the Managing Director position. Karen eventually moved back to her favorite place, Vancouver Island, and worked as a receptionist being the “face and voice” of Viking Air in Sidney. From there Karen moved to Campbell River and is extremely happy to have found her new home in our great city, at Active Living Physio. She finds it truly exciting to work with a team who places such high value on client care and satisfaction!
