Kinesiologist-guided exercise helps improve overall fitness, strength, and mental health
Kinesiologists are much more than a personal trainer. We hold a university Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology (which is the study of human movement) and have an in-depth understanding of human anatomy and proper movement patterns as well as the science behind different training types and intensities.
Whether it is a one-on-one session or a group program, your goals, health history and health conditions will be considered in every exercise or workout prescribed.
Kinesiologists are able to prescribe exercise for following conditions or injuries:
- Injuries resulting from a car accident
- Muscle, tendon and repetitive strain injuries
- Parkinson's
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Joint Replacements
- Osteoarthritis
- Osteoporosis
A large part of kinesiology is prevention! Exercise had been proven time and time again to prevent, or limit:
- Premature death
- Heart disease
- Stroke
- High blood pressure
- Certain types of cancer
- Type 2 diabetes
- Osteoporosis (thinning bones)
- Overweight and obesity
Exercise is medicine- it really is the magic pill!
With exercise you will develop your overall fitness, strength, you will notice improved mental health, and morale. You will also improve your sleep and concentration.
Working with a Kinesiologist will:
- Keep you accountable
- Ensure you are exercising with the correct form, doing the right amount, and the right type of exercise for your
individual needs - Motivate you!
- Ensure your time for exercise is being used effectively.

Some insurance companies such as Blue Cross, SunLife and Canada Life have employers that list Kinesiology as part of the services they cover. Please contact your extended health insurance company and see if Kinesiology is covered under your Health Spending Account; we will NOT be direct-billing Kinesiology sessions at this time. Please consider becoming an advocate for the Kinesiology regulation process and coverage availability by sending a letter to your insurance company and MLA. (Letter templates can be found here)
