Active Living with Cancer
Active Living with Cancer is a research-based, small group movement class for those living with cancer: pre-treatment, currently being treated, or within three years of treatment completion.

The Active Living with Cancer class is a 12-week twice a week program supervised by a Kinesiologist and can be done in-person at the clinic or from the comfort of your home using a virtual platform (Google Meet).
The programs is designed to improve:
- cardiovascular fitness
- strength
- balance
- core stability and mobility
For those who have or have had a cancer diagnosis.
Participants will complete a very simple fitness assessment before and after the exercise program, and will be asked to complete some questionnaires about their health history and symptoms.

Exercise has many physical and psychological benefits for those living with and beyond cancer:
- Decreases fatigue
- Improves physical function
- Improves ability to do daily activities
- Boosts mood and energy
- Enhances sleep and recovery
- Increases social and emotional wellbeing
Our Kinesiologist has education in Cancer Exercise
Class eligibility includes:
- Have a cancer diagnosis
- Be 18 years or older
- Be able to participate in mild levels of physical activity
- Have good English comprehension
- Be pre-treatment, or receiving active cancer treatment, or have received cancer treatment within the past three years
- Live in BC
- Able to participate in a virtual program (e.g. computer/tablet/smartphone with video) if not able to attend in-person
